Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love for all Mankind – A busy weekend for the Bull City Alphas
The Bull City Alphas participated in multiple events during the weekend of May 15, 2015 that show the aims of our Fraternity. . .Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love for all Mankind.
The Bull City Alphas and The Capital City Alphas, Beta Theta Lambda (Durham, NC) and Phi Lambda (Raleigh, NC) respectively, teamed up for the Garner Road Old School Basketball Tournament on May 15, 2015. The tournament was held at the Garner Road Community Center in Raleigh, NC to help raise money for the community center and programs supported by the center. The community center is celebrating 69 years of service and serves hundreds of families from a variety of programs weekly. Several members of the National Pan-Hellenic Council participated as well as teams from the community. Registration fees, entrance fees, donations, and monies collected at concessions will be used to help continue to fund community programs at the center and to help secure a new roof.The Alphas not only helped by submitting their registration funds, but donated extra monies towards the cause.
On May 16, 2015 Durham, NC was host to the Bimbé Cultural Arts Festival where the Bull City Alphas conducted a Voter Registration Drive. Many Brothers were on hand from 9:00am – 8:30pm to provide information about the election process, upcoming elections, and register eligible voters. A total of fifteen voter registration forms were collected.
