GTHSGTC-Project Alpha Session 2 Recap
The second GTHSGTC-Project Alpha session of 2018-2019 was a great success. We began the day with a recap of our first session on Goal Setting then followed up with a discussion on sexual health led by our special guest speaker. From there we transitioned to an active discussion on self-esteem where we used various activities to help promote having confidence in oneself and learned how to manage the things about ourselves we aren’t confident in. Project Alpha – GTHSGTC Spring Session
On Saturday April 13, 2019 we will be hosting our next Go To High School Go To College – Project Alpha session on the campus of the University of North Carolina. The topics will be “Time Management to Reach Your Goals” and “Self Esteem and Well Being.” Please be sure to spread the word at local schools, churches, and other establishments so we can have a large turnout of young men eager to learn and have a good time with the Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated! Black History Month at Mount Vernon Baptist Churh
Brother Reverend Jerome Washington has extended an invitation to Brothers, family, and friends to the Black History Month Celebration taking place at Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Numerous events will be held throughout the month including movie showings from the African American Film Festival and even a word from North Carolina Supreme Court Justice Michael Morgan. Project Alpha-GTHSGTC Recap
We would like to thank everyone who was able to come out and support the Project Alpha-Go To High School Go To College event. We began the day by watching and examining the STATS video and then pivoted to an amazing discussion on consent and the differences between healthy, abusive, and unhealthy relationships led by our expert speaker. From there we helped the young men develop long and short term goals using SMART plans and concluded with lunch and a tour of North Carolina Central University’s campus. This Saturday join the Brothers of Beta Theta Lambda as we host our tailgate for the Aggie Eagle Classic near the campus of North Carolina Central University! A $10 donation is suggested for attendees, proceeds will go to the BTL Education Foundation.

Project Alpha – Go To High School Go To College
Come out and support the Brothers of Beta Theta Lambda as we host our latest Project Alpha – Go To High School Go To College event on Saturday December 1st. The topic is Goal Setting and Decision Making and will take place at the Alfonso Elder Student Union on the campus of North Carolina Central University from 8am – 1pm, concluding with a campus tour. A special guest speaker will be in attendance to discuss Consent: exactly what it looks like and why it is of utmost importance!

Get Out The Vote!
On October 23rd the Brothers of Beta Theta Lambda joined the ladies of the Alpha Zeta Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. for a Get Out The Vote operation and phone banking event to encourage voter participation for the upcoming election.

Bull City Alphas Join Delta Sigma Theta For College Night 2018
The Beta Theta Lambda chapter joined the Collegiate Connection Committee of the Durham Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. to volunteer at College Night 2018 hosted at the Durham Alumnae Delta House. College Night is an annual program geared towards engaging with adolescents in the area and having conversations centered around self esteem, self worth, the current social media climate, and the transition from high school to college. Brothers helped serve food to all attendees and participated in the panel discussion where they shared their college experiences and provided advice on how to succeed academically while still maintaining an active social life.
